The Health-e-Child project includes genetic and molecular investigations. A specific informed consent in accordance with EC recommendations on the ethical, legal and social implication of genetic testing is required to collect and store biological sample to perform genetic examination.

Case Report Forms dedicated to collecting data of patients that are going to be inserted in the HeC Project have been created for each of the three disease groups (Cardiomyopathies, Brain Tumors and Rheumatology). These CRFs cover different aspects (clinical, laboratory, genetic, etc…) from the first contact with the patient (i.e. baseline visit) and continue even in successive follow-up visits according to each case needs.

In this folder you will find the reports on the Data collection status and databse population. The first report was delivered at month 18 and subsequently updated every 6 months.

The Quality Assurance Guidelines have been delivered at month 6 of the project. An updated version was prepared by M 28 following the EC indications in the Consensus report of March 18th 2008 (“Establish a quality assurance scheme for all biological data which is incorporated in the modelling and database”) a particular attention has been given to the Quality Clinical Guidelines and more precise rules to enforce the Quality control of data have been established by the Clinical Coordinator.
